Ethical & Sustainable Outdoor Brands you should know

10 ethical & sustainable outdoor brands 2.JPG

Full disclosure, I love nature, but I’m not the most outdoorsy! That said, outdoors brands are some of the industry leaders in sustainability, because if you spend a lot of time with nature, you probably want to preserve it!

Nearly all of these brands utilize recycled plastics or nylons for their functionality. If you are looking for natural fiber outdoor wear, check out Dedenroth Nordic! They use an interesting fabric called Ventile that’s made entirely from organic cotton. I also enjoy their elegant styling, which is reminiscent of Barbour.

As always, the brands I recommend utilize natural, recycled, deadstock, or upcycled fibers (making them sustainable), and pay their workers a fair wage or produce in a low risk region like the USA or EU (ethical). For more info on what I look for, check out Sustainability 101.

** Indicates a company that produces ethically, but may use regular cotton or polyester (I will asterisk even if the polyester or nylon is recycled) in some of their garments. Check the tag for fabric content & decide for yourself!
