7 Sustainable Maternity Brands to Check Out
7 Sustainable & Ethical Brands Making Awesome Maternity Clothes
Warp + Weft (USA, ships worldwide) - Denim
For jeans, I love Warp + Weft (USA, ship worldwide) - they come in sizes 00-24, are sustainable & ethical, and every pair starts under $100 USD.
Storq (USA, ships to USA & Canada) - Everything from casual to workwear
Their 4 piece kit is genius: one white tee, one black legging, one pencil skirt, and one black tee shirt dress, all bump-friendly. They also have everything from bras and compression socks to cute day dresses to respectable work outfits, in their words - “We design pieces that look and feel like what you would normally use and wear, because dammit, you are a human being and having kids does not make you a different person”. Love.
Justice Denim (Australia, ships worldwide) - Denim
Every pair sold funds a week of school for a child rescued from sex slavery! I also love that Justice offers an overbelly and an underbelly style option to fit with your preference.
Isabella Oliver (UK, ships to UK, EU, & US)
Beautiful basics, dresses, and workwear, and occasion pieces.
Boob Design (Sweden, ships worldwide) - Knits from bras and tees to wrap dresses
theRealReal (USA, ships worldwide) - Designer & high end consignment
In addition to "designer designer”, TRR also has a lot of high end high street lines like Hatch, and the reasonable prices you would expect from buying consignment. If you have been eyeing Hatch, but don’t want to pay retail, check TRR first! You always get 20% your first order with code “REAL”.
What Goes Around Comes Around (USA, ships worldwide) - Designer vintage
While not explicitly for maternity, WGACA prides itself on carrying exceptional vintage kimonos from Japan. Yes - I know the word kimono is considered loaded at the moment, but these are the real thing - impeccable Japanese design and construction, and absolutely unmissable. They also carry hard to find vintage band tees. If your style is easy California cool, go take a look!
Rent the Runway (USA only) - Occasion rental
You guys know I love RTR and have been using them forever, both for occasion rental & their regular subscription. That said, they dry clean all the garments in between wears, and until they fully transition to organic dry cleaning, I don’t think I would recommend daily use for pregnant women. Still, RTR can be helpful in a pinch, and I think wearing a dry cleaned outfit once in a while might not be the end of the world.
